Training History

2007 - present Proformance Goalie School - attended weekly in-season camps, and trained routinely in private sessions with Rob Fuchs or Sean Murray (Proformance Owners) 2015 - present Fortius training and High Performance Center - worked with personal trainers to devise and evolve personal  training program focusing on developing core strength and High level conditioning 2008 - 2016 Spring conditioning team BC Bears - trained under Jaroslav (Yogi) Svejkovsky with the 2002 BC Bears and competed in the highest level 2002 elite AAA tournaments. Winningest 2002 BC spring team throughout each of his playing years. 2014 - 2016 attended private sessions with Dr. Saul Miller - Sports Psychologist and learned strategies and routines for developing personal program of visualization and mental preparation.
Height: 6’3” Weight:170 lbs Age:15 Grade:10 Catches: Left Position: Goalie Attends Burnaby Central Secondary school, and will play for the Burnaby Winter Club E15 Academy team competing in CSSHL for the 2017 - 2018 season. Shortlist candidate for selection to the BC U16 team Played the last two seasons for the Burnaby Winter Club Bantam AAA team and won league, Provincial, and Western Canadian Championships both seasons. Selected top goaltender and first team All Star at the 2017 Western Canadian Championship tournament in Warman Saskatchewan. Selected 2nd round, 35th overall pick in the 2017 Bantam draft by the Saskatoon Blades. He was the first BC non Academy player taken in the draft
Koen is a dedicated hockey athlete, and trains year round for sport specific strengthening and conditioning. He has trained under the tutelage of the same goalie instructor over the course of his entire playing history. He now does coaching for his training group’s summer camps Played on consistently high level elite AAA teams and competed for numerous championships at some of the most prestigious and high level tournaments available for his age group. Enjoyed both winter and spring hockey since his first year of tyke, and has played both with and against the best players in North America in his age group
Short term goals are to make the BC U16 team and compete in Calgary for the Western U16 Cup, and to lead the Burnaby Winter Club E15 team to defend their E15 Championship title. Long term goals are to continue to play and be challenged at the highest level, competing annually to make Hockey Canada’s U17, then U18 teams and go on to play for Canada at the World Juniors. An NHL career is Koen’s ultimate goal, and he is committed to continuing to work towards that goal on a daily basis.
